 Guppy is a nice tropical fish in your aquarium. Certainly, you will be in love with this color fish. Being a live-bearer fish, the guppy is easy to breed. You can keep them in a small space.  While you have this nice color fish, you need some regular care. They need a very small amount of food daily. Guppy is an omnivore mean can eat vegetables and meat. You can buy ready-made food from the fish shop or you can also use homemade food.

 

What is the Standard Setup for Guppy? 

For guppy fish, a minimum 10-gallon tank is required. A minimum 6-8 inch depth of water is sufficient for a guppy. Any kind of aquarium or tank is good like glass, plastic, or cement. Depending on the quantity of fish you have to determine the accurate size. A pair of guppy fish need 1 gallon of water. 

One proper size filtering is needed for the tank/aquarium. If there are some live plants the environment will be good for fish. In the winter season, a heater will maintain the water temperature.

What is the Best Food for Guppy? 

There is a couple of type of food available for guppy fish. Guppy is a small size fish and needs a micropallet to feed them. You will get various types of food like micropallet, live food, etc. In the fish shop various brand food for guppy available.

 

There is an option to make guppy food at home too. The best way to feed guppy is twice or thrice per day with a small amount. The approximate rule is to provide food for a guppy which can be eaten in two minutes the whole day.

 How to Maintain Water Quality?

While providing food a couple of times daily there is some uneaten food. The fish poops will produce gas. To maintain water quality need to change water around 20-30 percent weekly. Depending on the fish quantity and density you have to change the water every week. Some guppy fish breeders also recommend changing up to 50% weekly.
